Meet the members of the Macaloney family who help run Glenskirlie on a day-to-day basis....
John Macaloney...founder...he and his late wife Linda first set up Glenskirlie more than 20 years ago. HIs experience as chef helped finetune Glenskirlie's fierce passion for first-class food quality and service. Today the highly experienced and committed team of chefs continue the tradition.
Colin Macaloney...general manager...John's son and the man who oversees the operation of Glenskirlie. Colin graduated in hotel management and honed his skills at some of London's top hotels including the Savoy before returning to the family business and spearheading the development of the hotel services.
Suzanne Kirkwood... function suite manager..John's daughter who works throughout the business and specialises in the wedding side of the business, overseeing the smooth on-the-day running of individual weddings.
Pauline Macaloney...wedding co-ordinator...Colin's wife who is likely to be one of the first people brides-to-be will meet during their first appointments to discuss a Glenskirlie wedding. Pauline's passionate about planning to perfection and ensuring the bride and groom can enjoy their day as much as their guests.
Our history speaks volume...
Glenskirlie first emerged more than a quarter of a century ago, initially launching as a family-run restaurant with an emphasis on quality food and first-class service.
Operated by its founders John Macaloney and his late wife Linda, Glenskirlie soon became a destination venue, popular with discerning diners seeking fine food in fantastic surroundings.
As the years passed, Glenskirlie evolved - the dining areas were extended and refurbished and a new purpose built function suite designed and created to meet a demand for bespoke conferences, private dining and events.
At the beginning of the new century the foundations were laid for the next chapter in the Glenskirlie story. Scotland’s first newly built castle of the 21st century opened its doors, extending the facilities and introducing exquisitely appointed hotel rooms complete with sumptuous beds, the best bed linens and the finest accessories.
Over the years Glenskirlie’s name has attracted a number of awards and has received critical acclaim for its food and service alike.
